Visions of China

Yesterday, I went to the Met. They have a special exhibit called "Visions of China," which is about how Chinese Art and Culture have influenced Western fashion. In particular, the exhibit mentioned that it was not really China that was the muse, but the fantasy of China. The collection included works by House of Dior, Valentino, Tom Ford, Balenciaga, Lanvin, and more. My favorite collection was a series of works influenced by Chinese pottery. I am inspired to try to make a dress that is similarly inspired.

I thought this was Chanel, but it might be Guo Pei

My favorite piece, by far
They hired a DJ for this event, and there were refreshments and buns!
