This weekend, there was a three day long music festival called Governor's Ball. It originally began on Governor's Island, but now takes place on Randalls Island. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have, but I have some videos.
I had read the forecast, and knew that it would rain in the early morning, so there would likely be a lot of mud. I made the excellent decision of wearing rain boots, which made the entire day much easier. As it turns out, I was in the minority, and most people were in sneakers and sandals, which got completely ruined by the mud. A friend of mine wore flip flops, and the mud got all over her feet.
Since the day started cloudy, I didn't put on sunscreen, and by the end of the day I had a horrible sunburn. It was a great event though; next year, I might even get the three day pass. This year I only bought the Saturday pass, since I really wanted to see Marina and the Diamonds and Angus and Julia Stone.
